The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County plans, develops, coordinates, evaluates, and funds programs and services for Broward County residents age 60 and older, as well as adults with disabilities age 18 and above.

Who Qualifies for Services

Adults age 60 and older residing in Broward County
Adults age 18 and older with disabilities residing in Broward County

Food & Nutrition Programs

Meals & Food Assistance

Services: Congregate meals at senior centers, home-delivered meals, nutrition education

Eligibility: Age 60+ (congregate meals open to all; home-delivered meals for homebound seniors)

Utility Assistance Programs

Emergency Home Energy Assistance for the Elderly Program (EHEAP)

Service: Energy assistance during home energy crisis

Benefit: Up to $600 per household per year

Eligibility: At least one person age 60+ in household, low-income, energy crisis

Community Care & Support Services

Community Care for the Elderly (CCE)

Services: Case management, case aide, homemaking, personal care, respite care, emergency alert response, adult day care, monthly caregiver stipend

Eligibility: Age 60+, functionally impaired, at risk of nursing home placement
